Why an academy

Regenerative farming builds on local knowledge and research. Farmers need time to try new practices, adapt them and manage changes in yield and workload.

The Academy supports farmer learning, long-term follow-up and research. Alongside funded projects, it helps sustain the knowledge and relationships that make wider change possible.

How a farmer moves through it

1Come and seeFarmers visit the demonstration plots at our learning center in Subak Uma Lambing and talk to farmers already doing it.
2Start smallA first plot, with seedlings, ducks or azolla supplied and a trainer in the field each week.
3Support through the transitionWe stay alongside farmers through field visits, practical advice and opportunities to sell their rice, learning from each crop cycle.
4Become a ChampionExperienced farmers can become local Champions, sharing what they have learned with others in their subak.
